Pause and re-centre

Prepare your state before you prepare the activity.

Think: safe, heard, connected, understood and calm.

Name it without making the child responsible for it.

My words, tone, actions, attention and response.

Adult conflict, proving a point and solving everything at once can stay outside this time.

One small way I want to show up for the child.

What does my child need from me right now?No blame. No shame. No sides.

Something lower-pressure if energy, mood or plans change.

A warm greeting, patience, predictability or a little space.

Keep goodbye calm, clear and child-centred.
